About ignitED Competition
Towards the development of young Egyptians, PDF introduced its first STEM competition which is designed by Engineeius®, to increase awareness of different topics and problems affecting our community in a fun, engaging, and competitive way. PDF has selected a unique topic to be the theme of the competition each round and identified several problems within it, that should be addressed by the competing teams of children to find smart innovative solutions using latest technologies.

Egypt, home to ancient wonders and breathtaking landscapes, is a magnet for tourists worldwide. However, in the modern era, there is a need to blend historical allure with technological innovations to augment the touristic experience. The competition challenges participants to harness robotics and mobile apps to elevate tourism in Egypt, making it more interactive, efficient, and memorable.

Who Should participate?
This competition is dedicated to young Egyptians/students of ages 12 to 16 from public and private schools in Cairo and Giza, to empower their abilities to elevate tourism in Egypt through Robotics & App Development solutions. The competition is designed to host 400 participants allocated to teams of ten.
Challenges Ideas :
Robotics Track
Design a robotic system that enhances the visitor experience at a specific touristic site. This can be through:
• Interactive robotic guides that provide information in multiple languages.
• Robotic systems to ensure site cleanliness and maintenance.
• AI-driven mechanisms to control crowd and maintain site preservation.
App Development Track
Dive deeper into merging technology with heritage:
• Develop software that can interact with tourists, answer questions using AI, and personalize the tour based on preferences.
• Software to enhance site security, ensuring safety of both tourists and artifacts.
